Misogyny ... Trump and Vance Tap the Toxic Manosphere for Votes using Andrew "Tate Hate Speech"
Trump re-posts a meme-lie about Kamala Harris giving bl*w j*bs to get ahead -- and to quote Carly--Vance uses Andrew Tate memes as a "dog whistle" to lure online misogynists to vote for. Trump.

First, let’s take Donald Trump. He’s been quiet in the face of criticism that J. D. Vance as a vice-presidential candidate is a thoroughgoing disaster. J. D., it’s said, is given to verbal blunders like calling single women with no kids “childless cat ladies”—as if motherhood made you a woman. Well, it doesn’t. It is a magnificent experience, as any mother who really loves motherhood will tell you. And not all do love it. And not all women want to be mothers, and some of those “childless cat ladies” out thre are among the wisest and most brilliant and most humanitarian women ever to live.
I can’t imagine somebody calling Mother Teresa a “childless cat lady” or denigrating as detriments to society of the childless geniuses Oprah Winfrey, Helen Mirren, Angelica Huston, Dolly Parton, Katharine Hepburn, Ashley Judd, Sally Ride, Marilyn Monroe, Harper Lee, Rosa Parks, Rosetta Tharpe, Julia Child, Butterfly McQueen, Carmen Miranda, Frida Kahlo, Hattie McDaniel, Marian Anderson, Martha Graham, Theda Barra, Georgia O’Keefe, Willa Cather, Nellie Bly, Martha Gellhorn, Emily Dickinson, Clara Barton, Florence Nightengale, Jane Austen, Helen Keller, and Elizabeth I. And not to be forgotten, of course, is Annie Oakley. Despite conspiracy theories, Oakley, who never had kids, never killed anybody—though she came pretty close, I guess, when she shot the ashes off the cigarette being smoked by the future-Kaiser Prince Wilhelm II.
And not to forgotten also is Kamala Harris, who helped raise two of Doug Emhoff’s kids and who is loved by his ex-wife.
Of course, you never hear a smear about the 35+ male Nobel Prize winners who never had kids. Do ya? Do ya? No! No!
But I digress.
The Make-up of January 6 Insurrectionist Was Heavily Misogynist
Lest there be any doubt that Trump was the inspiration for this insurgency, all you have to do is read the signs. There were five major nexuses of alt-Right ideology: QAnon, the Proud Boys, the Three Percenters, the Oath Keepers, and the White Supremacists. Out from their central points, hundreds of militia groups and political organizations sprayed out — and then interconnected with them.
Where misogyny lay deepest in these groups was in the Proud Boys—which began as an anti-feminist group—in the White Supremacists, where racist and misogyny create a toxic cocktail of threats—and in the Oath Keepers, who want women barefoot and pregnant … and home.
Down deep underneath these three groups in the map above is the dark web presence of the Manosphere, with its four virulent aspects:
• Incels - short for “involuntary celibates”, Incel communities believe they are entitled to sex and because they haven’t had sex recently or at all, they feel a bitterness or hatred towards women (most self-identified Incels are men) and their stations in life. Incels have carried out a number of mass shootings and other attacks. Some advocate the legalization of rape on private property.
• Men Going Their Own Way (MGTOW) - a male separatist movement present primarily in North America. Some MGTOW’s have advocated the extermination of women except for some saved for sexual pleasure and childbearing.
• Men's Rights Activists (MRA) - an anti-feminist movement that believes male privilege is a myth and, to the contrary, that societal and political structures privilege women. They are behind the Trad Wife movement, and. Harrison Butker follows their precepts to the letter. They want women out of the public sphere, and some advocate revoking women’s right to vote, have jobs, or run for office.
• Pick-up Artists (PUA)—Andrew Tate’s home territory. A movement that dehumanizes women as sexual objects, and that claims women need to be sexually available for men at all times. Some affiliates advocate for the legalization of rape. Andrew Tate has made 3/4 of a billion dollars teaching men how to use women to make porn videos for profit. He is charged with rape and trafficking of minors and running an organized crime syndicate.
Trump and Vance Intend to Enroll the Misogynists on the Manosphere
Because the Manosphere is largely “dark”—on encrypted and members-only sites that don’t appear on the usual social media platforms—we don’t know how many men totally are drawn to it, only that between 28-30% of young men in their teens and 20s, follow one or more of these sites. The following of Andrew Tate alone—and he is accessible now only on X—is 9.5 million men.
Now, with more than 800 of the January 6th insurgents in prison for their acts, the groups that carried out the attack on the Capitol seem largely quiet, though QAnon has reared its ugly head recently.
But they’re there, and they want women’s liberation and empowerment stopped cold. They want women out of the work force so that can make and control all the money. They want the public sphere to be 100% male, with the little woman home cleaning the house and raising the kids—and under male control because, as Simon de Bouvoir pointed out:
No woman is free who does not have her own money.
Also, there are many opponents of abortion who honestly oppose it on ethical grounds—but not, by any means, all of them. Denying women abortion—and making sure they conceive and bear children and are busy for decades raising them—is one of the fastest ways to put the power and money back into men’s hands that they began to lose the minute that they starting having to compete with women.
And many males that competition. Females are out-performing them in grade school, middle school, high school, college, and grad school. Women’s income has steadily risen despite the fact that they are paid less than men (still) for the same work.
Men in these misogynistic groups have decided the game is rigged against them and that, despite soaring violence towards women, including rape, they — the poor males — are the ones who are discriminated against and mistreated.
They feel, some say, emasculated.
I would just quickly submit that if a man who is unable to control a woman feels emasculated, then his self-respect was never based upon his own qualities of honesty, responsibility, friendship, understanding, respect, competence and achievement — that his self-respect was instead based upon the inflated sense of self-importance that always attends the dirty gift of being able to control and use another person and the inflation of having all of life’s dirty work done for you by somebody you don’t even have to pay and who can’t get out because you control all the money.
And this is the kind of false innocent victim screed that fuels the rage on the Manosphere. And it is this rage that Donald Trump and J. D. Vance intend to harness for a 2024 presidential win—and if they can do that, the windfall of voters in the young male range will be staggering.
Parroting Tate Hate Speech and Sit-Downs with the Devil
Of course, it’s not only Tate’s speech, but he is by far the most visible of the Pick-Up Artists using degrading speech to make them feel small and unworthy. It’s an old male trick. And Tate uses it to abuse women, use them for porn, and traffic them to other men. But the big windfall for Tate is selling “how to be me” trash to young men who want to know how to manipulate a woman into bed, preferably in front of a camera.
Now enter David Gilbert of WIRED, who covers disinformation, online extremism, and how these two online trends impact the 2024 US presidential election. Here is what he’s seeing.
First, despite the outrage from the “childless cat ladies” comment, Gilbert says, there was plenty more where that came from, and this screed is what Vance is actually there for. Here’s an extremely abbreviated list of excerpts from the misogynists inventive if demented mind:
People (read: women) in violent marriages shouldn’t get divorced. He’s not alone in this opinion: the Pope agrees.
There should be no abortion exceptions for rape and incest as these pregnancies were merely resulting from situations he sees as “inconvenient.” Yeah, rape is definitely inconvenient for the woman whose body and mind are destroyed by it.
Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez has a “sociopathic attitude towards family.” He falsely claimed she had said it was “immoral to have children because of climate change concerns.”
Vance also suggested in a 2021 speech that adults who have children should get extra votes.
A nifty quote: “We have to go to war against the anti-child ideology that exists in our country,” Vance told the Federalist in an interview in 2021.
Gilbert points out that comments like these “almost perfectly echo the rhetoric of accused rapist and human trafficker Andrew Tate and members of the online misogynist community.” Examples abound, Gilbert says:
Tate has, for instance, called women who don’t want kids “miserable stupid bitches” while telling the misogynistic Fresh and Fit podcast, in an episode now deleted from its YouTube channel, that “life without children [...] is inane and it’s pointless.” He went on: “If you sit here and genuinely think you’re going to work your ass off through your fertile years and by the age of 54, you’re not going to be suicidal, alone with a cat, then you are dumb.”
Trump chimes in, of course. He has repeated referred to Harris as a bitch and used terms like low IQ—echoing the misogynist screed that women are intellectually inferior to men. Trump also calls Harris crazy, echoing Freud’s truly non compos mentis comments on women as having womb sicknesses—therefore being hysterical. Trump as referred to Harris as being “dumb as a rock” and called Omarosa Manigault New a “dog.”
Gilbert points out that …
Tate has repeatedly compared women to dogs, telling Barstool Sports’s Dave Portnoy in an interview in 2022, “You can’t be responsible for something that doesn’t listen to you. You can’t be responsible for a dog if it doesn’t obey you, or a child if it doesn’t obey you, or a woman that doesn’t obey you.”
Then Gilbert drops the bomb:
The links between Trump, Vance, and figures like Tate and the virulently toxic Incel community appear to be, at least in part, strategic. … A pro-Trump PAC has launched a $20 million campaign to reach young voters that was kicked off with Vance’s appearance on the Full Send Podcast hosted by the Nelk Boys, a group of four men who have a huge following among young conservative males.
The Nelk Boys have in the past hosted Tate as well as Nico Kenn De Balinthazy, another far-right influencer better known as Sneako. De Balinthazy has fantasized about being allowed to hit women as men were 50 years ago. In one video uploaded to TikTok, he was caught on camera hitting a woman and responding that she had “been acting up all night.”
Trump has been interviewed several times by the Nelk Boys, labeling their work “important,” and was recently pictured alongside Sneako at an MMA event.
GOP Men Go Openly Misogynistic
Just a few snippets:
Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk blamed birth control for creating “very angry and bitter young ladies” and falsely claimed that the medication “screws up the female brain.”
Alec Lace, Fox Business opined that it was OK to refer to Kamala Harris as the “original Hawk Tuah girl, that’s the way she got where she is. That’s before he called her a DEI hire—one of Andrew Tate’s favorite slurs.
Jesse Watters, Fox News:“When a man votes for a woman, he actually transitions into a woman.”
Don and J. D. Blow the Dog Whistle of Misogyny
With thanks to a comment from PolitiSage friend “Carly.” She pointed out the term childless cat ladies …
“…is a common insult, commonly, almost casually batted around, not some term he made up. But in using it, he meant to instill in women themselves a conditioned aversion, a reactive disgust to "becoming" that trope. It did backfire. But it was also a dog whistle to men who believe they are not only entitled to define women's societal roles, they are also the only ones capable of keeping women from *becoming* the thing no one wants to be.
Thank you, Carly! And what this brings up for me is that this overt Tate Hate Speech being blathered all over the Internet by major American political figures is about more than gathering votes and winning the election. Like Project 2025, it’s about putting women back into their place with utter, total finality.
And part of that is grooming women into what men want them to be.
Carly’s comment was so well-put that we’ll just make that the final word …
It basically amounts to men taking their pain out on women because they are reluctant to do it on men, their "buddies."
Just when I think things can’t be more vulgar or more scary they get 100% more vulgar and more scary.
Whew! Who are we? Does regulation still have a meaning ?
Does adulthood carry a purpose beyond getting to act like a moron?
Are we so lost in “just making it” that we care not a twit about regulated guidance for not only our children, but for our entire race?
It seems time( way over due) that we regulate the inter-net so it isn’t awash in hate and vulgarity . When it works to educate it can be a tremendous ideal. When it is used to give the “green light” to verbally abusing then it needs to carry huge fines and rules. Delete ! But with purpose to curb ugly hateful losers.
