And Merchan doesn’t seem bothered by it so far.

He has got now 12 Congress-folk in his courtyard in full bullying stance. What is going on behind the scenes in the DOJ, in Bragg's office, in Merchan's office is anybody's guess. But my guess is he's super, super bothered. They're attacking his daughter (again) and dismantling his gag order in full view of the press and with a president editing their speeches in full view of a major magazine's editor and God and everybody. He's probably overwhelmingly pissed, but where Trump has the impulse control of a raging animal, Merchan is too cool to show anything. When it comes, it'll come with multiple subpoenas and a carefully written accusation of conspiracy, gag order violation, and contempt. But it'll take days and days. ... The famous case is when the Supreme Court ordered Barack Obama to deliver his birth certificate by December 5th, about a month after he won his first presidential election. His campaign did nothing, so the deadline came and went. The Supremes had full authority to hold Obama in contempt and JAIl HIM, and they didn't. Why? Because there is a clause in the charter of the Supreme Court that says that the Supreme Court MAY DECLINE TO TAKE A CASE THE DECISION FOR WHICH, PRO OR CON, WILL DISTURB THE BASIC STABILITY AND SECURITY OF THE UNITED STATES. Trump is relying on this. Merchan has been fastidiously careful not to overstep and go to far. He has backed off this line over and over again. He doesn't want to do anything that will result in a mistrial or a reversal on appeal. AND he is following the sage advice given the Supreme Court in its charter that legal authority should not do anything that will lead to violence that can harm American citizens. This is a very tough call because Trump is goading the system HOPING his base will go violent and overthrow the government NOW, RIGHT NOW. And now he has called out the SLEAZE BRIGADE to sit in the court room mocking the judge, hoping he'll too far. ... Right now, our basic goals isn't winning the next election -- it's MAKING IT TO THE NEXT ELECTION. Am I making sense? or was that last Modelo Negra one Mexican hallelujia too far?

Wow, PHD. And either you’re calling me drunk or really have something against Mexicans, not sure which. Despite your thesis it’s time Donny spent a bit of time in the cooler.

NO! I, who lived in Mexico for 10 years, am sitting here drinking Modelo Negra and contemplating the state of the world. I have nothing against Mexicans, though it's well to remember that if an American is in Mexico and she criticizes the laws, culture, or actions of Mexicans--or costs them a peso in trade--she can be arrested. It's hilarious. And on their southern border, Mexicans have a fence 100x more secure than the one on our Southern border. And good to remember that more than 50% of all of Mexico's income--more even than that of oil--comes from the money poverty-stricken illegals in the US send home to their families, with Moneygram skimming off the top bigtime. Things are not as they appear. And it's the most corrupt government I've ever seen, a total sham.

I would like all of the lapdogs dressed in blue with red or striped ties charged with a hefty fine for being the Trump mouthpieces. Its outrageous. Unpatriotic. Un-American if not treasonous to support the man responsible for Jan. 6, much less payments to porn stars and so much more.

And its also illegal. Trump edited their comments. He told them what to say. The gag order clearly stipulates that Trump can't attack the family of court officials--and THAT HE CANNOT SOLICIT OTHERS TO DO SO. Trump is guilty of gag order violation; the rest are guilty of abetting a person committing a criminal act. I hope Democrats impeach Johnson and Vance now and that Vivek Ramawamy's so-called career is done like a dinner.

I think all those riding on Trump’s yellow coattails might find themselves out of a promised job. How embarsssing their pro-Trump ads are.

WoW - DJT just can’t control himself is surrounded by “yes people”. His “capo’s”. They aren’t covered. If Donnie is punished for violating the “gag order” they can step in for him. DJT may want to consider the IQ of his crew. Tubstub openly stating that he was there to violate the “gag order” may have been a bit of a red flag for the judge.

Will the judge hold DJT to the letter of the order? All too often, those with the ability to enforce tend to bend to the powerful and the monied, or they cite “optics” to make allowances …. And the rest of us decide that the system is skewed against us …

ONLY if the judge will actually enforce the order … If he doesn’t worry more about the optics of PROSECUTING Trump than he does the optics of letting that man get away with all he gets away with.

Enforcing the gag order immediately starts the next round because Trump, in doing this utterly in-your-face "I effing dare you!" thing leads directly to more charges that Merchan is functioning not in a fair way but only in a way to protect his own daughter from criticism and approbrium. That restarts a cycle of motions for mistrial, delays, and--all important--the sales pitch to MAGAns that he's DONE WRONG. This makes it more likely they will do violence on his behalf.
