As a scientist with graduate degrees in both biology and geology, I can agree that questioning science is a needed activity, but misinterpreting scientific data and bending the facts to fit an agenda based on religious beliefs is not a great way to make public policy. Especially in a nation which holds to FREEDOM of religion, and includes many types of believers and nonbelievers

Is it reasonable to assume that all world leaders and governments know this information? That China, Russia, Australia, the EU and the USA know this? And that the tech bros know this? If yes, then their racial supremacy agendas, genocide-by-design economics, carbon emissions free-for-all fits into a racial supremacy-driven land grab for survival?

What does this do to equatorial flora and fauna? Does any region allow survival of species-dense ecosystems? Or does this become a global paring down?

What are the carbon-sequestering techniques that can operate at scale?

USA maga-dominated government knows this is happening - why would they promote climate denial and complete abandonment of efforts to reverse carbon-emissions? For the energy-land grab plus short term monetary gains?

So confusing. They know it’s happening. And that the data are factual. Denial is cheaper? Are they really that shortsighted? Holy moly.

Part of the supremacy doctrine is that they are infallible, and that nothing can go wrong.

And the WCN don’t believe in science. They believe climate science is a hoax. So foresight is not an option for them. Threatens the supremacy ideology.

And then there are the accelerationists among the WCN - who want the biblical end times to come sooner so that Jesus comes back.

I wish I were joking, but they are not joking. Also, their belief in Manifest Destiny means that WCN in the US is divinely ordained goal. And they are nationalists - Europeans are foreigners to most of them. Have you seen the clip of MTG telling a British journalist to go home? They do not connect with Europe. Their grandiosity narrative is Jesus-chosen people-America.

For every action there is a reaction. What caused the thick ice sheets?

As having lived well past a half century, there is a change cased by something. In elementary school,I can still visualize the pictures in our little science book, March is windy symbolizedby a kite, April showers(rain) bring May flowers. In my area, it has stepped down by a mouth. Spring bulbs bloomed in April but now daffodils will bloom in Feb. My fruit trees have bloomed early from unseasonly warm weather only to destroyed by frost later. This has happened regularly on a yearly basis. Growing up with no AC, there were a few sparatic weeks of high nineties heat but nothing like today's record breaking heatwaves.

So you are saying, no relationship between the air quality of today with manufacturering of plastic replacing glass and millions more cars and fossil fuel farm equipment, AC emissions, and thousands of satellite launches among other man made apparatus has had no effect on our atmospheric patterns causing any climate change?

Expand full comment
Drew Hall's avatar

You may not know this but plants don't bloom by temp. They bloom by day length. Late frosts are dangerous, which is why warmer temps are actually beneficial and will limit crop damage and improve productivity. Air quality is much different than CO2 (currently 0.042% of the atmosphere). We should focus on true pollutants in our air, land, and water. This focus on climate sucks all the air out of the room so to speak.

There's a lot of ways things go sideways on this earth. For example, in 55 million years ago, the oceans warmed and the cathrates, lattice-llike caps on methane deposits on the ocean floor, failed and an outgassing killed 90% of all species on earth. ... Then there's the "jolt" at 465,000 years ago that coincides with a HUGE upsurge of new species. What we know from ice cores is that ice cores show a massive upsurge in CO2 in the atmosphere immediately before the onset of the last ice age. Nobody knows why. You're right, it wasn't human, but the incitement of CO2 is obvious.

Expand full comment
M.Wilson's avatar

There is huge meteor strike evidence that affected climate change by changing the atmosphere on earth. Humans are changing the atmosphere through large amounts of polutting emissions as evidenced during covid look down. In Asian, densely populationed cities where mask had to be worn before covid, the mountains were invisible by a bluish fog. The cities on lockdown had clear skies and mountains visible for the first time in decades. Same with LA in San Bernadeno area. You could visible see and feel the effect on eyes and nose before stronger car emission restrictions were passed for the state.

The tracking of temperature and rainfall for over a century, shows changes year after year, that were once in a year in a decade of change.

This was published in Jan. 2025. https://www.whoi.edu/press-room/news-release/no-amoc-decline/

Brian Klein - A Closer Look's avatar

Key takeaways from that article::

"The Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) has not slowed down since the mid-20th century based on the North Atlantic air-sea heat fluxes over that time.

This finding contrasts with studies that have estimated a decline in the AMOC, likely because previous studies rely on sea surface temperature measurements to understand how the AMOC has changed. However, sea surface temperature is not a reliable way to reconstruct the AMOC, according to the authors.

Although the AMOC has not declined yet, scientists agree that the Atlantic overturning will slow in the future—but whether the system can collapse entirely and when this collapse would happen is still up for debate. Such a scenario would have catastrophic consequences globally."

Not compared to the much quicker profit from making tons of cheap junk to service people’s pleasure addictions. Will governments do it? Not very effectively, but some will at least pretend to. And you know where their money has to come from. TAXES. (If they just print it, they devalue the money into hyperinflation.)

Actually, one of the dreadful lessons of a rapid sea change can be that a mini ice age brought on by a change in North Atlantic salinity is that the Younger Dryas developed in around 10 months, lasted 1500 years, and then abated in less than a year. “Glacial paces” tend to be the proverbial 100,000 years of boredom followed by 1,500 years of sheer terror. There is a GREAT book that came out in 2008 called “With Speed and Violence” by the New Scientist writer Fred Pearce. It explores tipping points in climate change — the fast stuff that can really come on fast and have devastating effects. And with glaciers melting and putting more fresh water in the sea to screw up the salinity, this is one of those hit-the-wall issues. The other is the pending population crisis — and I don’t mean the falling birthrate. I mean the fact that if we stopped breeding right now, we would STILL top out at 11.2 billion people in 2021. The way Neal de Grasse Tyson talks about that is that it WON’T exterminate us, though many will starve and die of contaminater water. Many of us will survive, but life will be hell on earth. And governments aren’t responding fast enough because big money is such a corrupting factor. But … anyway … even years later, Fred Pearce’s book is amazing to read. https://www.amazon.com/Speed-Violence-Scientists-Tipping-Climate/dp/0807085774/ref=sr_1_1?crid=35HY92GMWN6YV&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.uP-UygXgaS4rkYrHIkLTNxZ0xCkjKr1TmL3UkR6k5de6WL2svh5ImV5jCp0g1ZiepADyVaUX7n5najzu_Yrxl2UksZ1t7MPbja7qXVW9bbX9zi4uFodoX5EJjxFhdrBaY_aX-SXSzWkVMhoINlNIrey7O3-044kzAaj6vIKICFBT6OijimDHIAhp1zTOSV4sDFpA5eWGVnKvXLZT42ig8aULkZKzHX56mPt39wTtmWI.55sBJ_pEgbMQeDOm42deZiiXORSY9EoQxre9vXSf01U&dib_tag=se&keywords=With+Speed+and+Violence&qid=1755869029&sprefix=with+speed+and+violence%2Caps%2C1487&sr=8-1
