Feels odd to "like" what you write, with a heart. But I completely agree. I was musing about humanity's weapon development (can't find a better word); from swords and sabers, bows and arrows, to AR-15s and hydrogen bombs. What does this say about us. Then again, people were always cruel...

I spent 20+ years in the mid 80s and 90s working as a CRNA in an inner city trauma center. Every day it was gunshot wounds to the chest, etc. It was non-stop with really awful wounds. We lost a lot of patients and saved some. Despite reading descriptions as above I can’t even begin to imagine what the wounds look like today with military weapons. I’m definitely glad I’m retired.
