A Cotswold Coup? Is the GOP About to Remove Trump on Article 25?
The House early recess may have been about saving the GOP, not Trump. And the Vance Cotswold trip may be about making sure Vance doesn't wind up in the bloodbath coming for Trump.
Last year, as we watched the ascension of J. D. Vance on the dark wings of Peter Thiel, we began to worry that the real candidate for president wasn’t Trump, but Vance. Make no mistake, the GOP had to run Trump because Trump is the only one with cult status with the Evangelical Deep-South Right, and they had to have that.
Oddly, what got Trump cult status was the lie promulgated by Qanon that the Democrats, using Jeffrey Epstein, were running a Satanic ring of pedophiles who kidnapped, raped, murdered and ATE children. This lie grew out of early claims, born of rage that she stored emails in a bathroom in a warehouse in Utah, that Hillary Clinton was part of such a child-rape group. What happened in Libya didn’t help, either.
When that didn’t work out for the radically conservative Right, Qanon shifted the narrative to indict major figures of the Democratic Party, not just Hillary, and claimed that the child-rape ring was operating out of a pizza parlor in DC—and the conspiracy theory then became Pizzagate.
Enter Jeffrey Epstein
When the Epstein case exploded a few years ago, the conspiracy narrative changed and became volcanically hot. Pam Bondi had a chance to indict Epstein in Florida when Attorney General between 2011 and 2019 but failed to bring him in, even after a previous conviction. Epstein served 13 months of an 18-month sentence in a slap-on-the-wrist indictment that excluded as many as two dozen accusations of rape.
[The records of grand jury testimony on the Epstein case are still under seal, and a judge last week refused to release them on valid Florida constitutional grounds. She’s just, by law, not allowed to do that.]
Now this conspiracy theory would become a crucial part of Donald Trump’s power over his base. MAGAs came to believe that Trump would bring the STORM that would purge the Democrats who were part of this Satanic rape, murder, and cannabalizing of children. This was God’s mission now, and Donald Trump was God’s arm of vengeance.
Trump dog-whistled Qanon and touted this coded conspiracy theory with this image, which he himself published on (un)Truth Social.

For a much more thorough rundown of the history of the Qanon conspiracy theory, how the MAGAs embraced it, and how Trump used it to gain HOLY STATUS as God’s arm of justice, see:
Enter Ghislaine Maxwell
Ghislaine, the craven trafficker and truly heartless madam of the hundreds of underage girls provided to rich, untouchable men, has now started answering questions posed by TRUMP’s PEOPLE. And they’ve already given her partial immunity. They would NOT do that unless she was implicating lots and lots and lots of Democrats that the GOP can use to try to continue the Qanon racket and deflect from the guilt Trump’s own attorney general is now embroiled in. For Pam Bondi’s failure to expose the Epstein-Trump (et al.) racket in Florida see the post referenced above, too.
But White House sources say that Bondi warned Trump in May that his name was ALL OVER the 100,000 records that the CIA worked 24 hours a day to review before the proposed release of the Epstein records that MAGA demanded on promises made by Trump during the campaign.
Now Trump finds out that he is heavily implicated in the records as a serious pedophile. That won’t deal only Trump’s reputation a fatal blow, it would profoundly damage the GOP, which peddled the Qanon SATANIC Democrat child-rape and -murder and -cannabalism conspiracy theory to rank-and-file Evangelicals whose worldview of good-vs-evil absolutism is extremely easy to manipulate. And they did. And they knew the were doing it the whole time they were doing it. Donald Trump would bring the storm. But it won’t work out because Donald Trump, who has been covering his tracks against accusations of abuse and even rape by some of the girls trafficked by Maxwell, is now out of time.
And Bondi’s transparently false claim that there’s no smoke where a fire is burning down the GOP—who said the files were on her desk—then refused to release anything—then suggested the Florida grand jury transcripts when Epstein got a slap on the wrist because powerful allies (the guilty likely among them) purged most of the testimony and the D.A intimidated witnesses telling that they, the sexual assault victims, were the criminals.
Now Maxwell has made her deal. That she got ANY immunity proffer is evidence she is going to fork over Democrats, rationing their exposure for more and more perks. If she says anything about Donald Trump at all, it will be little. Only immense pressure from Democrats will see any or all of the 100,000 really pertinent files released, the ones that implicate Trump and other rabid Republican abusers. (Most of Trump’s cabinet have had abuse charges leveled against them.) And there is every possibility that while the justice department is dangling the sparkling, mesmerizing pendant in front of America’s slowly closing eyes that the Trump Administration is systematically destroying every shred of the evidence.
Oddly, the person who may have saved all that evidence is Elon Musk, who may have used his access to virtually every piece of intel in the U.S. government cache via DOGE, almost certainly has every shred of evidence against Trump in the Epstein affair. Remember, it is he who teased it on his way out the Oval Office door. He will sell it to the highest bidder, like everybody else commodifying this travesty.
The GOP now has a mega MAGA problem
But they knew it would come to this—though they probably hoped it wouldn’t be this embarrassing. But this is CONVENIENT for them IF they can avoid being smeared with the pedophile scandal. Convenient, because …
They always meant to get rid of Donald Trump early in his 2nd administration and replace him with Vance, using Section IV of the 25th Amendment to do it. Many, many of us were anticipating this last year.
They used Donald Trump to gain the presidency and both houses of Congress for the Team at Project 2025, but he has too much baggage, a burden that just gets heavier. Here’s our article from last October.
Vance is perfect for the GOP. He’s young. He’s radical. He’s heavily Catholic-connected, like the six conservative justices of the Supreme Court and like the heavily Catholic CIA (once acidly referred to as the Catholic Intelligence Agency).
Now, a really, really important point. Pope Leo has NOTHING to do with what these guys are doing. He is completely on the other side of this—pushing Netanyahu to stop starving the Palestinians—and outright telling Vance to have compassion. Leo, as Cardinal Provost, was sent to lecture Vance on his attitudes before he was allowed to see Pope Francis. Leo has no love of J.D. Vance—and he has no brotherhood with America’s rogue Supreme Court. Pope Leo is lining up as a solid BLUE ASSET in this world, and that is an unexpected and very welcome boots for humanitarians. His presence is likely to siphon off Catholic support for Trump. Catholics split 44% Republican, 50% Democrat in the last election cycle.
Mike Johnson’s early recess of the House of Representatives is fascinating in that just a few weeks ago, Johnson was demanding the release of more than grand jury testimony. Then, when action to press further was up for a vote, Johnson dismissed the House early for its summer recess. But calls for the release of the Epstein files was growing and still is.
But maybe there’s a method to Johnson’s latest apparent fit of madness.
Everybody Knows Trump Has Dementia
The diagnosis has come from many: from his niece, psychologist Mary Trump. And brilliantly from more than 500 psychologists who have spoken about it. We wrote about it in April of last year.
There have been two other reports. First, from retired Naval Commander Paul Mazich, as told to The Express:
Mazich believes that Trump has displayed numerous examples of mental decline stretching back to his first term and has called on lawmakers to assess his current fitness to serve as Commander in Chief.
He added: “During Donald Trump’s first term, dozens of psychiatrists and mental health experts collaborated on a book alerting the American public to the potential danger he posed.
“Clues to Trump’s mental state have been plainly observable for many years. So have at it, lawmakers. But, if they determine that Trump suffers from a health issue that makes him unfit for office, they must act for the nation’s good and not for political advantage.”
Trump has on many occasions boasted about his health and recently claimed that he “aced” a cognitive exam, telling reporters: “I got every answer right.”
Bandy Lee, who taught for 17 years at the Yale School of Medicine, said that she believed that Trump first showed signs of cognitive decline in 2017.
Second is a devastating two-pronged report from scholars with unassailable credentials, as told to Newsweek last March:
Dr. Lance Dodes, a supervising analyst emeritus of the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute and retired Harvard Medical School professor, was among those recently quoted by Duty To Warn, which describes itself as an association of mental health professionals concerned about Trump.
"Unlike normal aging, which is characterized by forgetting names or words, Trump repeatedly shows something very different: confusion about reality," he wrote in a statement published on Friday, which referenced Trump's confusing Barack Obama with Joe Biden.
"If he were to become president he would have to be immediately removed from office via the 25th Amendment as dangerously unable to fulfill the responsibilities of office," Dodes, who is also a distinguished fellow of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, added, citing the 1967 mechanism that allows for a president to be removed due to unfitness.
In another statement released at the same time, New York psychologist Suzanne Lachmann said Trump, 77, would "seemingly forget how the sentence began and invent something in the middle" resulting in "an incomprehensible word salad"—a behavior she argued is observed "frequently in patients who have dementia.”
The 25th Amendment, Section IV
The GOP’s best option for getting rid of Trump without going through a year’s negative publicity is to invoke Section IV of the 25th Amendment.
It is an intricate procedure, but in this “summer recess” it may be possible for behind-the-scenes play makers to pull it off. It will have to be Republican instigated and managed, a form of impeachment, calling experts — there are thousands to choose from! — who can attest to the fact that he’s been mentally off-planet for at least eight years that we know of and that he had major mental problems for decades.
He’ll fight. He’ll lose. Then, on grounds of incompetence, he can never be called to testify in any of the trials that will come in the Epstein cases, the January 6th cases that will be revived when (if) he leaves office, the Mar-a-Lago intel cases that were sabotaged by Aileen Cannon, the election cases that were bungled by Fani Willis (37 counts remain), and the nine pending suits against Trump by people injured or killed in the January 6th insurrection.
Vance Goes to See Murdoch
This hasn’t been explained, and maybe we’ll never know. But Vance took Air Force 2 over to Montana, and 95-year-old Rupert Murdoch and his son, Crown Prince Murdoch (she said, acidly), had him motorcaded down to their modest billion-dollar ranch down south in the mountains for a heart-to-heart.
Why? Well, we know this: Rupert hates Trump and his publications have turned against him, even Fox News. The Wall Street Journal, also owned by Murdoch, just printed the bombshell, that Trump sent Jeffrey Epstein a birthday greeting with a hand-drawn lewd drawing. That’s a shot across the bow on every journalistic level.
J.D. Bolts the Country?
Now, we learn, J.D. will have a summer vacation in the Cotswold with the trad-wifed Usha, who used to have a career, at the very time that the Epstein crisis is oil popping in a hot frying pan in Washington — and at the time that Trump is in Scotland on a $10-million-dollar golf trip on our nickel, trying to reset a narrative that is never going away.
And Then, a Tip from England
The smartest European observer I know then lobbed a shot across the bow for me.
What if, saith he/she/it, Vance is going to be in Europe while the Americans remove Trump from office. Is this, he/she/it asked, why Mike Johnson really released the House early—not that there couldn’t be multiple interlaced reasons, all of them bad?
Is this why Vance saw Murdoch? Almost certainly.
Is this why Murdoch published the Epstein birthday card? Yes.
And here, from Australia’s The New Daily is ..
THE ONE ARTICLE YOU MAY WANT TO READ THIS WEEK.
THIS IS WHAT MURDOCH IS PONDERING.
And as the article says: Murdoch made Trump. Then he lost $787 million dollars on his lies. Now he’s faced with backing and selling to the public a vile little pervert. And he’s angry.
As the article says:
… In keeping with Murdoch’s relationship to power throughout his career, what he helps make, he also helps destroy. Perhaps now it’s Trump’s turn to be unmade. As a former Murdoch lieutenant told The Financial Times over the weekend:
He’s testing out: Is Trump losing his base? And where do I need to be to stay in the heart of the base?
The answer may be: In alliance with President J.D. Vance, who will be in Murdoch’s pocket.

I really think so… I think it was part of the plan from the beginning - even if Donald did not know…
Trump is dangerous because he’s mentally ill. Juvie is dangerous because he is evil. He can’t wait until he inherits the golden throne.
