TRUMP INDICTED IN JANUARY 6 CASE
Four counts. Lady Liberty drags him away again. Don not so Teflon after all.
A federal grand jury today indicted Trump on four counts: conspiracy to defraud the United States; conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding; obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding; and conspiracy against rights.
More than five hundred people have been tried for the attack on the U.S. Capitol Building. More lawsuits are coming for Trump and for those who had a hand in the deaths of Capitol police and others.
The indictment reads:
"From on or about November 14, 2020, through on or about January 20, 2021, in the District of Columbia and elsewhere, the defendant, Donald J. Trump, did knowingly combine, conspire, confederate, and agree with co-conspirators, known and unknown to the grand jury, to injure, oppress, threaten, and intimidate one or more persons in the free exercise and enjoyment of a right and privilege secured to them by the Constitution and laws of the United States — that is, the right to vote, and to have one's vote counted," the indictment states.Â
Developing—and we’ll have more about this and other issues this weekend.
