They've opened the way for endless delays while the lawyers argue over what is, and what is not, an official act.

Yeah, same tactic they used in holding the case for months: give Trump the delays he needs to get back in office and hand the Christian nationalists what they want. This sets the precedent also that once he's in, we'll never get him out again.

From scotusblog.com re: Thomas’ concurring opinion with the 6-3 majority on the immunity case:

“Justice Thomas writes a concurring opinion in which he questions the validity of Jack Smith's appointment as special counsel. "If this unprecedented prosecution is to proceed, it must be conducted by someone authorized to do so by the American people."

It’s obvious now who is coaching, probably through third channels to hide the trail, Judge Cannon in Florida.

I’m so sick of this, “anything goes attitude” Who would have ever thought that a convicted felon would be no deterrent to run for president! What’s the next one down from Banana Republic🫣

Sickening decision! Supreme Court is in Trumps court.

Actually, it IS Trump's court. The WHOLE PUSH in his last administration, largely crafted by Fox News pundits, was to take the court. When Trump started getting into real trouble, Newt Gingrich came right out and said, "Now we'll see if the Kavanaugh battle was worth it." What? Expecting a little quid pro quo here, Newtsie?

The humor has to be there so depression doesn’t settle in!

Too right. Last night both my son and I were so depressed that we sat on the porch in 100-degree heat -- after PGE turned off the leccy to prevent another wildfire! -- and indulged in the worst kind of gallows humor until we were rolling on the floor. It helped. It did. And I am volcanically angry.

I love it when that happens! My best friend and I used to do that. She moved to SC and I’m seriously thinking of doing the same thing. Laughing is the best medicine for political depression

His conviction on the “hush money” case should stand because that all happened before he was elected. Also his criminal behavior in the documents case should stand because when he refused to give back the documents multiple times, he was not the president. Flashing those top secret documents around to whoever happened to be at maralago also violates law when he is no longer president.

I agree! But look at what he's doing already! He's filing motions, which the judge has to consider, and any one of which is appealable--all based on the Supreme Court's granting him very, very broad immunity. He's just USING it now to delay. And his doing so will, I fear, work.

Delaying is one thing but it’s still a case.

Yeah, I truly agree. But the constant delays can push it all past the election -- EXCEPT maybe in the fraud case. I think Cannon will make sure the Mar-a-Lago case doesn't go to trial before the election. Our only hope -- and the country's -- is a blue landslide in November: the presidency in undeniable terms and supermajorities in both houses of Congress.

Who is deserving of the gratuities for this round? Trump for appointing the new traitorous members, or the Corrupt 6 for reaching such a draconian decision? Maybe both will occur.
