Well said, Andrew. There definitely is method behind this madness. The firings of selected process and principle guardians has served notice that nothing honorable is underway. The intrusion of the DOGE-bros into the very heart of our federal government computer operations should be analyzed as the 21st century equivalent of storming the presidential palace, capturing the radio station, and comandeering the national bank - the process that used to be the formula for small country coups. When you control the very mechanisms governing the disbursement of federal funds, you can "starve" segments of the government at will. It remains to be seen whether any of the impounded funds of the USAID will ever be released - and who is left there to disburse them?

Only Congress can create and fund the agencies through which the Executive does its work. Indeed, it is solely Congress' responsibility to delineate as well the responsibilities of those agencies. The attempt to dissolve an agency by executive fiat takes impoundment (ruled unconstitutional when Nixon attempted to do it) a major step "forward" in the category of executive overreach, even beyond the bankrupt "unitary executive" scam. All of which, of course, you know well.

We are under a threat now that is broader and deeper than we have ever known, energized by a cast of characters to whom the principles underlying the Constitution are considered simply minor impediments and the concepts of honor and duty are foreign - all supported by a group of citizens/voters who have abandoned any concept of civic obligation in favor of corpiratism and religious dominionism. Having been around for over 70 years, I truly hope that I live long enough to see this ship of state righted and put again on the course that respects all of its citizens and undertakes again all of the responsibilities of good government. Government cannot and should not be run "as a business" - they are categorically different in composition, principles, goals, and operations. This is also the reason that we have seen "businessmen" fail so catastrophically when given governmental responsibility. May this at least be the lesson we relearn soon!

Resist. React. Repeat.

We are in the midst of an active coup. Not coming, not threatening, but here at this moment. Trump is a Russian asset and has been waiting to be called since the days his properties in NYCity and beyond went bankrupt as did his casino. Who is such a crappy businessman he bankrupts a casino? In all, 6-7 legal failings. Bankruptcies from which he could not recover. And he had blown through the money 💰 his father gave him. What was he to do? Turn to the Communist father of his Czechoslovakian wife with ties to Russian oligarchs and get loans from Russian banks with a commitment to return favors as the most corrupt grifters out there do. If I am mistaken in any of my conclusions after years of reading bits here and there, feel free to correct any misinformation. So now is the time Putin demands the return of favors promised. He finds himself in a failing attempt to reclaim Ukraine 🇺🇦 for the corrupt Soviet Empire as it is dying. And the 🍑 felon has been insulted by multiple legal challenges in court from his first administration. And his fragile ego cannot tolerate failure , EVER. He even cheats at golf. He is the most immature two year old on the planet. But he finds support among brighter grifters and billionaires who never have enough including the MUSKRAT who aspires to colonize Mars? Without the molten core that somehow controls the deadly radiation ☢️ that makes it uninhabitable. (Not a scientist, so again, check that bit.) But now we have all the billionaires lined up to write with Russel Vought a playbook for a less than educated or informed President whose power is now unchecked thanks to a right leaning SCOTUS to follow, step by step, including all the people who have demonstrated fealty to fearless leader having been exposed 24/7 to Fox News . The Cabinet appointments can be pulled right from the playbook as they have been watched for years to be sure they will throw this nation under the bus for 💰 and power, ever so sweet. Throw in a few Rightwing Christian Nationalists for good measure and you have a failed state of mostly good people who were too comfy in their beds at night after the GREATEST GENERATION assured their peace and opportunity for growth. We assumed we were the most powerful nation on Earth but we forgot for a moment too long that EVIL grows in the dark, as does jealousy. And our beds no longer feel so comfy watching our nation cave to threats of bloodshed to leaders that resist, their families and children. Just a rant on a Monday afternoon watching our stock market crash. Wondering when the military will be converted to brown shirts to do the bidding of our demented Commander-in-Chief; will they obey? The hot button question when their services have been deleted and their families threatened. They may be our best hope. They took an oath as well and I suspect these warriors are more inclined to resist, rebuild, and perhaps turn the tide of fascism on its head. That’s where I’m investing our hope. Good luck fellow everyday Americans. Forgive typos as I am so very frightened and tired of the all consuming Trumpism, the most corrupt disease ever in my 77 years on this planet. 🇺🇸🕊️
