You know with all the hate the Americans had for the Japanese, in the end it was the civilian population that suffered. Not those who planned the attacks on the USA.

Dropping the bomb in the ocean, just off the coast, to show them the full force of the bomb without endangering lives is something I have thought of on the anniversary of the dropping of the bombs.

Stop now or the next one goes home

I love this - a demo bomb. Why the hell not? Through the many WWII in the Pacific books I’ve read and movies I’ve watched, I’m pretty certain the bombs weren’t even necessary. Japan had virtually no airforce or navy by that point, and their manufacturing ability was nil. We could simply have blockaded them and they’d have surrendered, certainly after a demo bomb.

But no, we had to go the collateral damage route. And the world has never been the same.

Trump&members of his administration throw around “nuclear” like it’s nothing. I’ve learned all US submarines are nuclear powered, but Trump trying to provoke a response irresponsibly named the action&location. Then the nuclear reactor on the moon? As if there were no other reason, for this reason alone Trump should never have been elected

The consequences of having a single nuclear explosion as a result of geopolitical tensions will be far beyond that which was unleashed 80 years ago. It must be remain unthinkable and rendered un-doable.
