The Manosphere: The Lay of the Land

Hi there … Here’s a cross-post from our sister Substack newsletter … We hope you’ll subscribe to “The Patriarchy and the Manosphere” as its purpose is to protect both women and men from the kind of predatory exploitation going on in the Manosphere. The four major groups of the Manosphere are all connected to white male supremacy, many to neo-Nazi groups, and alt-right groups that aren’t safe for anybody.
Trump and Vance dog-whistled these guys in the last two weeks of the campaign, and they came out and voted for them in droves. AND three of the five major nexuses in the January 6th attack were tied to anti-woman, anti-feminist hate groups—particularly the Proud Boys (Enrique Tarrio), the Three Percenters, and the Oath Keepers (Stewart Rhodes). Trump pardoned them all, almost certainly because they not only did him a favor but also knew how Trump was connected to pulling it off.
It should be enough that these men denigrate, frighten, attack, and exploit women—but they’re after more than that: the complete removal of women from the public sphere, the reversal of every one of the hard-won rights women have garnered in the last 150 years, and a return of women to the control and service of men and to confinement in the domestic sphere.
