"Gabriel's Oboe" - 2CELLOS with Zagreb Soloists at Lisinski Concert Hall in Croatia, June 2015.
2Cellos were a cellist duo, consisting of classically trained cellists Croatian Stjepan Hauser (on the left) and Slovenian-Croatian Luka Šulić (on the right). Signed to Sony Masterworks in 2011, they released six albums. The duo played instrumental arrangements for cellos of well-known pop and rock songs, as well as classical and film music. A few years ago, they returned to their solo careers but still play together often.
“Gabriel’s Oboe” was written by Ennio Morricone as part of the score for The Mission, which was nominated for an Oscar and is listed as the 33rd greatest film score ever composed. Enjoy. It’s really beautiful.
Classical is so underappreciated by many. To add to your mission for Sunday peace, may I share one of my all-time personal favorite pieces?
