Fascism’s Tools

There are a few, and they all dovetail with Project 2025.

• Martial law ensures that the population is frightened and under control at all times.

• Troops in the Streets with Guns ensures that citizens know that they can be shot at any time and have no due process rights.

• Secret Police give the clear signal that your arrest will not be backed up by probable cause or a warrant and that you will have no recourse to due process once you’re are detained. You can be taken. Your location can be concealed. You can be deported to another country. And in most cases, nobody will never know. Abrego Garcia was lucky: everybody knew he’d been disappeared.

• Capture of the Capital City. In every coup involving a fascist takeover, usually a military junta takeover, the capital city is taken first.

• Targeting for Race, Sexual Orientation, or Ideology. Every single fascist government has had a racial target—for example, the Jews for the Nazis. They also have a ideological target—for example, the Communists for the Spanish fascists. They almost always have gay targets —as fascists tend to be heavily patriarchal straight men.

• Women’s Rights are Always a Target. Every fascist state—every one—supports the removal of women from the public sphere and to reduce her to the status of forced-breeding animal. This one is no exception.

Who are these people?

• White People wanting to hold onto supremacy, money, and control—of everybody who’s not white. This is where Stephen Miller is at.

• The Manosphere. Men wanting to roll back the clock and return women to breeding animal-maid status, at home, not in the public sphere. This is where Russell Vought, one of the authors of Project 2025 is at. He once said that all positions of real responsibility should be held by a man. They want women under total control. They have already overturned Roe v. Wade. They will take contraception if they can—as well as the right to vote, the right to bank accounts and credit cards, the right to work, the right to hold office, and the right to have a cell phone. The first rule of a man counseled by the Manosphere is, “Take her phone.” That way she can’t call her father, her brother, or the police. The majority of men in Trump’s cabinet—among them RFK and Hegseth—are evidentially sexual abusers, like their boss.

• The Oligarchs. These are the super-rich corporate bigwigs who want cheap labor—forever. They want you breed. They want you OFF green energy. They want you to shut up about climate change. They want you to eat food full of glyphosate and then use mass medicine that is outdated and probably won’t work as well as a good Mediterranean diet of clean food to cure the diseases caused by your toxic chemical diet. They want you to pay huge credit card fees and overpay for health insurance. They want education stopped and they want anybody who has a good one in debt slavery for life. They want a stupid, obedient populace that doesn’t have legal protections and rights. And they want YOU to pay the taxes, and they won’t be paying a penny of taxes but will pay Donald Trump $1 each to his inauguration party. They will cut your social security, your Medicare, your Medicaid, you disability, your unemployment insurance—and raise your taxes.

• The Religious Right. When the negative ego that says “I’m always right” meets the delusion that you can “speak for God” we’re all in big trouble. These people always have an enemy — gay people, trans people, women, Muslims, Hindus, American Indians, and usually anybody with skin darker than a sheet. They love to bully. They find importance in banning books, messing up marriages, and especially, MOST ESPECIALLY, controlling women’s bodies, forcing pregnancies and deliveries, and refusing health care to a woman miscarrying even if she’s bleeding out. And there won’t be an abortion even if the foetus is dead in the womb. These people know nothing about God. But they will start everything with “God wants this ..” or “God said … or “God will burn you in hell for that!” The best argument EVER for the Separation of Church and State is these people telling you what their rights are over your child’s education or gender expression or their mother’s whole life.

• Donald Trump. Who is trying to become dictator because he if doesn’t, he’ll die in prison, maybe under the same circumstances as Jeffrey Epstein.

And now, this collection of vampires, led by Trump want to suck you for every cheap hour of work and every forced financial chain they can manage to get from you or subject you to.

And they can only do that if there are police in the streets because this is America, and we still believe we should be free and have rights and have the law on our side. And then …

• There a corrupt Supreme Court. And that’s a worry. A great, big worry.

Who’s Standing with Us?

A whole bunch of Democratic governors—Newsom, Walz, and Pritzer—and Utah governor Derek Brown, who, as attorney general, beat Trump 55 in court.

A whole bunch of lower court judges and DAs and grand juries.

It’s not over, but we should definitely hit the streets. Nothing screams “you’re going down” like a million people yelling in the streets.
