Before we begin …

I want to apologize for not having written this week, but, as some of you know, Paul Zolbrod, my brilliant former professor, died last Friday. His new book, Paradise Revisited: Lines from John Milton’s Paradise Lost and the Navajo Creation Story—which is the best mythic comparison in the last 60 years (IMHO)—is being published by Pleiades Books, my academic press. We have spent about every other day for 18 months working on this book, which I feel is a total masterpiece. So Paul was not just a former prof, he was my beloved author, and he is one of the most cherished of all the friends I’ve had in this lifetime. The Tates Leave Romania for Florida on Private Jet

We’ll have more today on this at The Patriarchy and the Sacred Feminine, but the bottom line is this: For two weeks, the Trump Administration has been pressuring Romania to lift their travel ban on Andrew and Tristan Tate, whom Romanian prosecutors accuse of human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. The Romanian government claims they are still under “judicial control,” but I’ve got a nifty New York bridge to sell anybody who believes that.

So what happened?

First, during the campaign, J.D. Vance called on the Manosphere openly and directly to get out the vote for Donald Trump. Trump iterated his promise to release all the convicted January 6th insurrectionists on day one—and he did. This put most of the leaders of the Manosphere’s misogynist groups—who belonged to the Proud Boys, the Oath Keepers, the MGTOWs and the white supremacist enclaves—out on the street as a concentrated extra-judicial armed force. One of the driving forces behind the support of Trump was Andrew Tate—and Tate’s biggest fan in the UK was Elon Musk who was touting him as a good guy even while four women there have accused him of rape and even with the UK government having filed charges against the Tate brothers for $20 million in unpaid taxes. Musk also suggested that Tate would make a great UK prime minister. Certifiable. Oh, yes, and Tate is a close chum of Donald Trump, Jr., who isn’t exactly pure as the driven snow himself.

Then, a few weeks ago, Tristan Tate takes to the airwaves to demand help from Donald Trump in getting out of Romania with the blunt statement that it was Andrew Tate who roused the Radical Right masculine contingent to get Trump elected—and, in fact, implied that Trump owes Andrew Tate his victory, which might be true.

Then last week, Enrique Tarrio, former leader of the Proud Boys (which began as a misogynist organization to fight feminism), visited Donald Trump at the Mar-a-Lago, where they discussed the possibility that Tarrio—who received the stiffest sentence of all the January 6 insurrectionists—will run for office.

The next thing we hear is that U.S. Envoy Richard Grenell, at a security conference in Munich, is appealing to the Romania government on behalf of the United States government (read: Trump) to lift the Tates’ travel ban. There was an immediate push-back from prosecutors in Romania saying they wouldn’t do it. It was a fight they’d lose.

Enter one Paul Ingrassia, who was the Tates’ lawyer in a defamation lawsuit against several of their accusers. The BBC reports:

Ingrassia also acted as Andrew Tate’s publicist and says he got the self-described misogynist influencer onto a show hosted by Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host. Ingrassia effusively praised Tate in online posts. In one dating from July 2023, he echoed far-right online talking points about moral decay in Western countries and called Tate “an extraordinary human being” who was offering “a dying West some hope for renewal”.

In case you’re wondering what the “moral decay” of which Ingrassia speaks is, it’s that women have any rights at all, and Tate is on record as saying women should not be allowed to work, to drive, to vote, or to have financial accounts in their name. So, women belong out of the public sphere and available for sex and breeding at the whim of men. That and maid service, according to Tate, is all women are good for.

Ingrassia is now a lawyer for the White House, and it is he who sprang the Tates.

He apparently also got a bunch of things returned to Andrew and Tristan:

• Five properties and a partial share of another property

• Six cars: an Audi A5, Nissan Murano, Lada 1500, Mercedes-Benz V-Klasse, Audi RS 7 Sportback and a Ferrari 488 GTB

• All previously frozen bank accounts have been unfrozen

• Company shares

Trump did well here, didn’t he? The convicted fraudster got the misogynists their money, the goodies, and their freedom.

Stay tuned: These guys will wind up in Mar-a-Lago and when they do, the gravity of how far to the Dark Side Donald Trump is going to go on women will become clearer. He’s not just going to take abortion rights; he’s going to try to take it all.

Musk Wants To Own U.S. Air Traffic Control

The FDA Cancels Yearly Flu Shot Conference

According to NBC News:

A Food and Drug Administration vaccine advisory committee meeting scheduled for March to select the strains to be included in next season’s flu shot has been canceled, a panel member said Wednesday.

The cancellation comes as the United States is in the midst of a particularly severe flu season. So far, 86 children and 19,000 adults have died this season, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“I’m quite shocked,” Norman Baylor, a former director of the FDA’s Office of Vaccine Research and Review, said in an email. “As you know, the VRBPAC is critical for making the decision on strain selection for the next influenza vaccine season.”

Translation: RFK, Jr. has shut down your flu shot for this season. This he does as a measles outbreak spreads from southern to northern Texas. And, as we all know, an epidemic is no respecter or boundaries, political or geographical.

Also note, when vaccines aren’t available, the group worst hit is kids under 6, who die at many times the rate at which adults do. Next worst off: old folks.

Trump Continues to Interfere Abroad

1. First, was the Gulf of America. When the AP wouldn’t do it, the Supreme Court allowed Trump to keep them out off the White House. At least so far. Maybe they’ll reconsider.

2. Second, there was Trump’s 45-minute RAGE FEST directed at the prime minister of Denmark over his demand he be allowed to buy Greenland (which is full of untapped mineral deposits).

3. Third, of course, was Trump’s attempt to arrogate to himself the sovereign nation of Canada become America’s 51st state. Fortunes of Canada’s previously beleaguered liberals have soared since Trump started this tripe.

4. Fourth, Donald Trump leapt to the airwaves to suggest that the Brazilian judge handling what is practically a treason case against Brazil’s former president Jair Bolsonaro be impeached. That’s an American president telling a Brazilian supreme court to remove a judge.

We all know there’s more to come.
