Recap: Eric Adams, the Democratic mayor of New York City, was being charged by the Biden administration with accepting illegal campaign donations and with five counts of bribery, wire fraud, and conspiracy to solicit a contribution from a foreign national.
Once Trump was in office, Adams appealed to new chief executive for a pardon. Instantly the specter of a quid pro quo leapt to everyone’s mind. Then Pam Bondi, our present, completely unqualified Attorney General, instructed the court of Judge Dale Ho in the Southern District of New York to DISMISS the case—and to dismiss it WITHOUT PREJUDICE.
I had to look that one up.
When a case is dismissed with prejudice, it means the case can never re-tried again.
When a case is dismissed without prejudice—which is what Pam Bondi did with this case—it means the case can be retried at any time at the pleasure or whim of prosecutors.
The U.S. legal community freaked when she did this because it sets up what Weissman is going to call a CHOKE CHAIN. And specifically this choke chain meant that Adams wouldn’t be recharged so long as he towed the Trump lines on immigration and DEI policies in the most populous metropolitan district in the United States. And what else would Trump demand? The list could be limitless—one thing after another. This choke chain would make the mayor of this megapolis the pet dog of Donald Trump and completely enslave an already corrupt man,.
Eric Adams at first accepted this reprieve without prejudice but later filed a motion to have Judge Ho change the dismissal to with prejudice.
And that’s what Judge Ho just gave him. In doing so, he effective bitch-slapped Donald Trump, Pam Bondi, and the entire legal graft system they’re running out of the Justice Department.
Weissman’s final warning is that what Ho did in one district, where he stopped Trump from indenturing a public official in a way the law had never before be used to do, may turn up a different result in a Republic court area. And if it did, Democrats would appeal it all the way to the Supreme Court. And what would Supreme Court, which is virtually 100% responsible for this current mess because they declared Donald Trump immune for every single thing he does in office in this second term.
In this short, brilliant video, Weissman reads from Judge Ho’s fierce-hearted judgment a defense of equal protection under the law that should make the earth fall out from under Pam Bondi, who should be ashamed even if she’s incapable of feeling any shame, and provide a warning to Donald Trump who keeps losing and losing and losing and losing in court.
And though Donald Trump is immune from prosecution for anything—that’s anything—he does in office, Pam Bondi may not be, though every corrupt freedom thief in this administration will certainly try to claim they were “just following orders” from a man who was the kind of complete power that always corrupts completely.
We were warned.
So, instead if being prosecuted for his initial corruption, he's released into the wild... and it's ok because he's not controlled by the orange clown.
Good Gawd.
